10:38 pm - The time has come
That's it. Hogwarts is over for me and every other seventh year. Unless someone failed, in which case they might be back. However, even if I have failed (which I hope I haven't) then I wouldn't come back again. No matter what my final marks are, I feel I've learned all I can from this place. It's time to move on, get out and start being an adult even if I have been technically one for two years now.

Perhaps later I'll feel sad about leaving Hogwarts and dorm life behind, but now all I want to do is leave. There's a farewell party going on, but I'm in my dorm room packing up because right now I'd rather do that than say my farewells. I think there are a few others who feel the same.

In a week I'll be settling into my new job as junior chef at the Wok 'n' Roll, doing the lunch shift, hope to see some of you there!

1:51 pm - The end is nigh
I see the light at the end of the tunnel... exams are nearly over. Merlin, I can't wait to shut my books up with a very satisfying BANG! And then never open them again, or at least not for a very long time. It'll also be nice to let go of all the information crammed inside my head and not have the foggy feeling one gets after staring at books and papers almost all day.

At least I haven't blown anything up in the practicals. One poor girl did and... yeah, there's going to be an ugly stain on the wall for a long time. Still, as the person standing next to me said, at least she didn't explode a person.

Now for an important question... do I want to be in a flown ad?

5:09 pm - Black Friday strikes
When it comes to exams these are some of the facts of life:

1. Your flown will always go off when you least want it to (like the middle of the Transfiguration theory exam)

2. After battling with a particular set of Runes which have been giving you trouble all year, there will only be ONE question on them and all the rest will be on something else obscure.

3. Whistling is the most annoying sound in the world when you are trying to concentrate on Hexes

4. Throwing a hex at the whistler WILL land you in detention

5. Disbelieving the rumour that stink sap figures in the Herbology exam might not be a good idea

11:34 pm - This is the summer of our discontent
Have to share Vee's sentiments about boredom. My eyes are starting to glaze over every time I open a book and start revising. All I want to do is get the exams over and start in my new job.

I suppose this malaise isn't helped by the letter from my brother sent via my parents. If they'd opened it then I doubt they'd have sent it on, but since Luke sealed it... Anyway, in response to the peace overture I sent following the argument we hand when I was in London, he sent a seven word reply: "I have nothing to say to you"

Charming, isn't it?

Saffron, Vee... care to accompany me on our last venture into Hogsmeade tomorrow?

5:19 pm - Colourful
This HEX paint really is tenacious. And I'm not sure I suit bubblegum pink hair with lime green streaks.

Ah well... serves me right for not paying attention. I wasn't about to do that immunity though.

4:45 pm - Gossip...
Listening in on flown conversations now? How low the gossip reporters will go for the sake of a sensation. And if it isn't that then I don't know how they found out... For the record, it's completely normal to send gifts to a friend, and be worried about them.

12:06 am - "It is human nature to think wisely and to act in an absurd fashion."
My interview with Mr Chang went very well and I'm pleased with the outcome, so that's one weight off my mind. This is good because June is approaching at a rather rapid pace (or so it seems) and I really need to knuckle down to study. Unfortunately I am not one of those types who can ignore the books until the last minute and I'd rather not get a Troll mark in any of my classes.

9:10 am - Today is the day
My heart beats fast
The interview day is here
But I am prepared

Wish me luck, I'm on my way in an hour. Lunch with my parents and then the interview and then more family time. I'll be back at Hogwarts tomorrow morning. And yes, Saffron and Vee, I will debrief you once I return.

12:04 pm - So...
The interview is this coming weekend and therefore it's hard to concentrate on my other studies.

However, I feel like I'm on top of most subjects, except for Ancient Runes and Transfiguration which are proving a struggle. If I scrape through with an A then I'll be happy.

5:26 pm - Ouch
Private to Saffron )

My ears are ringing from the amount of squealing going on in the common room. Seems that one of the second year girls has a cousin in North American who is feeding her gossip and she's spread it around. Now the common room is filled with girls either excited about Dustin Carter's apparently impending nuptials or wishing doom on his bride to be. Sorry, Katie, I tried to convince them not to believe the tabloids but it's completely out of hand.

Needless to say, it's impossible to study with all that noise so I'm going to the kitchens to do more practice. If anyone cares to join me, I'm making a sesame garlic chicken stirfry.

1:58 pm - What is told in the ear of a man is often heard 100 miles away. ~Chinese Proverb
My interview is set for the second weekend of May. It seemed far away before but now it's just over two weeks.

I received a stilted thank you from my brother (via my parents) for the gift I sent to my niece. They've named her Cordelia Meredith.

There are still ongoing repercussions from the joke that was played on me last week. I remember reading something about a rumour taking seventy days to die and it doesn't seem far wrong. It's getting out of control. A girl just asked if it was true I go skinny dipping in the lake! Plus two have sidled up and made some very suggestive remarks. Still haven't found the one responsible. At least it hasn't happened again.

9:18 pm - Oddities
Hogsmeade this weekend. I need to stock up on things. Like fizzing whizbees

My father tells me that my half-brother's wife has a baby girl yesterday afternoon. So I'm an uncle. I doubt I'll see her much, if ever, considering I have very little contact with Luke, but I do feel obligated to send some sort of gift.

No one seems to know what happened with the Slytherins. I missed breakfast so I have no idea what caused the chaos. Must have been one hell of a fight though.

Professor McGonagall approved my request to go for an interview one weekend.

Saffron, what sort of candles do you want for your cake? The ordinary kind? Or do you want the ones that burn different colours? And what's troubling you?

I think I hate pea soup almost as much as pumpkin now.

Malaysia isn't too bad a country to be stuck in, it could be somewhere worse... like Antarctica. Forcing the Puddlemere team members to stay there for so long is a bit ridiculous though.

Queen's 'I'm going slightly mad' is likely to be my song of choice during exams.

The practical joker who stole my clothes from the bathroom this evening will learn the true meaning of defenestration when I catch him. I won't be able to look Ned's girlfriend in the eyes for a while.

10:35 am - Decisions, decisions...
As Saffron pointed out, exam time is fast approaching. I could likely tell even without looking at a calendar just by the amount of students who are walking around with harried looks and how full the library has become in the last week. Luckily my nights haven't been filled with exam related nightmares yet, but then I'm also feeling a bit detached from the process. It's not that I don't want to pass NEWTs, after all, that's the whole reason I decided to do my missed seventh year, but I don't feel the need to be top of the class. I'll leave that to the more ambitious types.

Anyway, my mind is more occupied with what sort of restaurant to get involved with after finishing at Hogwarts. Although I do have certificates in basic cuisine and basic patisserie from Le Cordon Bleu, and therefore could focus on European cuisine, I would like to explore more in the Asian field.

I also now have an alias - Commissioner Gordon, charged with keeping Batman AKA Saffron Capper sane.

5:34 pm - Random observations
Two essays completed this morning, one is a bit short but I can't think of anything more to add.

The almond crust apple pie turned out better than expected, but needs a bit more cinnamon. Note - next time, watch that Walter Grey doesn't eat more than his fair share. Apparently he was throwing up last night due to over indulgence, which is a complete waste of food.

Might do some football practice later. Saffron, are you interested in joining me?

Oddly enough, my flown arrived in the post this morning along with my journal. I suppose now there's no excuse for not being better at keeping in contact with people. Flown number is 601-96.
